For the past 15 years, the Ford Escape has been one of the bestselling vehicles in the country and in the compact SUV segment. For the 2017 model year, the Ford Escape will arrive with updated styling, in addition to new innovative features and technology that will make driving easier, safer and more efficient.
The most noticeable change for the 2017 Escape is the bold new styling of the front and rear ends. New headlights, grille and bumper design give the Escape a more rugged and purposeful look, and the new taillights and liftgate give the versatile compact SUV a wider stance.
Two new EcoBoost engines are coming to the 2017 Ford Escape – a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder and twin-scroll turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder. The Escape will be the first Ford vehicle to feature Auto Start-Stop as standard equipment when optioned with an EcoBoost engine. The technology works by shutting the engine off when idle to conserve fuel. In stop-and-go traffic, this results in a 4 to 6 percent improvement in fuel economy.
A newly available SYNC Connect system will allow Escape owners to remotely start their vehicle, lock and unlock the doors, get their vehicle’s location and check vehicle information like tire pressure and fuel level from an easy to use smartphone app. Five years of the SYNC Connect service comes complimentary, and the system integrates with the SYNC 3 infotainment system.
The latest in driver-assistance technologies will also be available on the 2017 Escape, including adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with brake support, enhanced park assist, lane-keeping aid, blind-spot information system and a hands-free foot-activated liftgate.
Trim level options are S, SE and Titanium, with a new Sport Appearance Package available for SE and Titanium models. Six new wheel designs will be available, as well as three new colors – Canyon Ridge, White Gold and Lightning Blue.
